If leaving your dog at home while you hit Manhattan isn’t an option, then bring your best friend along. You’ll both be welcomed at Hotel Mela; a cheap New York City hotel located in Midtown Manhattan. Hotel Mela offers a Pet Package that includes lots of extras for man’s best friend.
During the day, you and your tail wagging pal can explore one of midtown’s dog runs. Dog runs are fenced in areas where dogs can roam unleashed. Dog play is popular, and most dog runs in midtown are accompanied by natural plantings and adequate lighting. If you want to show your dog a good time while in midtown, we suggest these hot canine spots:
Midtown Dog Runs
- Thomas Smith Park/Chelsea, 11th Ave. at W. 24th St. Rock formations and fallen trees add character to this dog run. If you have kids in tow, there’s also a children’s play area.
- Robert Moses Park, E. 41st St. at 1st Ave. This dog run isn’t huge, but it will certainly give you dog the freedom and exercise she desires.
- Dewitt Clinton Park, W. 52nd St. at 11th Ave. This is an outstanding neighborhood park. Boasting lots of play areas, a lovely perennial garden and of course a dog run no canine can pass up, Dewitt Clinton Park is a must-do.
Carry lots of water, and a plastic bag for Fido’s clean up. We bet you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how pet-friendly midtown Manhattan is. Come!
