Mixology, with a Maritime Twist

Grand Banks floating Oyster Bar

If boating and boozing top your list of summertime pleasures, plan to head to Grand Banks, the brand-new floating oyster bar docked at Pier 25 in Tribeca. It's actually housed within the historic 142-foot fishing schooner-turned-traveling museum, the Sherman Zwicker, and is expertly equipped with art, Long Island oysters (seven types including our fave, Fishers Island) and spirits. It's tentatively scheduled to open on June 15 and stay open (or should we say "afloat") until the end of October. Lectures and art exhibits will also be on tap. The raw bar takes its name from the Grand Banks of Newfoundland, where the ship plied the waters for a decade. For marvelous oysters and mixed drinks with a touch of maritime history, hop board – and don't forget to bring your sea legs.
