Throughout the month of November many exciting events are taking place in NYC. Many of these events are held every year and have a great reputation among both locals and tourists.
From November 7th to November 11th is the NYC Comedy Festival. This festival is headlined by famous comedians such as the Wayans Brothers, Kevin Hart, Artie Lang, Brian Regan and Patton Oswalt. The festival is held in various locations throughout NYC.
Also on November 11th is the annual Veteran’s Day Parade. This parade has been held in the city for more than 80 years. It is the country’s largest parade marking Veteran’s Day. The event begins at Madison Square Park with a wreath ceremony held at the park’s Eternal Flame.
The annual Holiday Train Show starts on November 17th at the New York Botanical Gardens. This show is a long time tradition in NYC that delights train lovers every single year with their dazzling displays. The event is targeted to people of all ages and features many model train sets as well as scaled versions of many of NYC’s iconic buildings. Hot cocoa is served to attendees throughout the show.
On November 27th at the Macy’s Parade Balloon Inflation near to the American Museum of Natural History will likely attract many tourists and even some locals. Thousands of people gather to watch the balloon characters get blown up for the big day.
The next day, November 28th marks the 2013 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Featuring the famous floats the parade is known for, it also features performances from some of the biggest names in music as well as many Broadway stars.
Anyone traveling to NYC to attend these events should be sure to stay in a Times Square hotel to be close to all the action.
