METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART
Located on Manhattan’s Museum Mile overlooking Central Park, “The Met” is the country’s largest art museum, home to a permanent collection of more than two million works of art. Its extensive collections include American, Asian, Byzantine, African and Islamic art. Weapons, armor, costumes and accessories are also featured. The Cloisters, the Met’s second, smaller location in Fort Tryon Park in Upper Manhattan, houses medieval art.
